Texas Hold’em: How to play?

When talking about classic poker, Texas Hold’em often comes to mind, and rightly so. At the moment, this is one of the most common and popular forms of poker. There are live tournaments with big prizes all over the world, and statistics show that around 95% of all tournaments are of the classic variety.

All you need to do to get started is memorise the rules and the combinations; the gist is very simple. But it should be noted that it will take some time for a beginner.

Rules of Texas Hold’em

In order to play the game you have to use the standard card deck, which has 52 cards, from 2 to Ace. Of course, it is the first card that is the weakest, and the last one the highest.

The game has a croupier, who holds the pot and deals, and, of course, makes sure that everyone follows the rules. On the net, the dealer is a software program; in some cases, it may also be a live dealer.

Of course, when you play live against real players or in a tournament, you just can’t do without one.

Blinds

A mandatory bet is one of the main stipulations of the game. In every hand, 2 players place a bet, starting from the left of the dealer and going clockwise. In classic poker, there are:

  1. SB – to be placed on the player next after the dealer.
  2. BB, which comes after the player with the small blind.

The IB is always twice the value of the BB.

Bidding

Once the Dealer has been decided and the first bets have been placed, the Hand starts. Everyone gets 2 pocket cards and in the middle of the deal 5 cards are dealt, from which a hand can be formed with a maximum of 5 cards.

In 1 hand there are 4 rounds of bidding in the game, which form the total pot. And the winner gets the whole amount.

The first round of bidding is the re-flop, where each player’s hand is evaluated. This is where the poker players decide whether to go into the game, to bet, or to call the players’ bets. Of course, if the hand is weak, you should fold to avoid wasting chips. And if the hand allows, you can continue playing the game. In any case, the first player to the left of the dealer says his word, and the others remaining in the game decide what to do.

The flop is the second round of bidding, when the dealer hands out 3 cards to be used to form a sequence. Here the player has more information about what to do next. You may actually get a big hand on the flop.

Once all the cards are on the table, the player to the left of the dealer makes his move.

The turn is the stage where 4 cards appear on the table. Based on this the players again make conclusions and decide what to do with their cards, and bidding continues.

The river begins when the last card on the table appears. With as much information as possible, it is possible to understand how to proceed, whether to raise or fold.

Showdown is the completion of a hand when several players have reached the final hand. It involves a showdown, which determines who the winner is. Whoever has the stronger hand takes the pot.
